I decided to come to the spectrum centre when my son started school so that I was able to help him learn to do his homework and help myself to update my education as I was hopeless at school , I was unable to do maths and communication learning at school, where I picked up my learning at the spectrum centre through a few tutors I learned computing through Janice Shearer who I keep in touch with . I now help others out on the computer and other stuff they need to get help with, . I helped my friend Gillian with her net-book to get most of it set up . I also help my sons friends with signing up to websites if they have problems with setting up questions.
I have learned a lot over the years at the spectrum centre joining classes, I loved the spectrum circle reading group as it helped me to write stories where I never had written a story when I was at school, it also helped me to read a lot more.

The first meeting for the adult literacies learners met at Inverness Museum and Art Gallery on the 25th February 2012.
Margot Henderson was the head of the Reading Rocks forum meeting. The people who attended were Trevor, Helena, Gillian, Harry, myself (Lorna), Mark Richardson ABE coordinator.
Did a talk of what we all wanted to learn, and do. Then we had a look and talk about reading rocks, everyone had different readings from the rocks which was fun.
Then we went upstairs to the art gallery had a look around the pictures, we all had to choose a picture to read from, every one had different ideas in what they read and saw in the pictures.
We then went back down stairs to have coffee, tea and sandwiches, after our meeting finished the tutors had their own meeting.
